After 2 spoilt reels, I have finally learned how to operate the FM2 properly. Unfortunately the digital output from the photo-lab was nothing to shout about; too low res. I really love the texture though. Maybe I should invest in a film scanner, now that prices are rock-bottom.

My favorite from the first(good) roll - my darling Princess Looy of Arabia.

To add further misery to a painful week, Barca scored an emphatic win over the Red Devils this morning in Rome. 4 more scripts to mark, 1 marking report to prepare. One-armed and in a frenzy to meet the dateline tomorrow.

Before the Op.

I was smiling because the doctor said it was going to be a simple operation. It was anything but simple. I went into the operating theatre at 830am, passed out from the drugs and the next thing i knew, it was 5pm, I was groggy and blood was oozing out from the wound.

I tried to have some food, but ended up puking. I was going be very groggy all into the very next day. All through the ordeal, I was lucky to have my Jaime Carebear next to me, I am so grateful to her. While I slept, she sat there in the chair by the bed, reading, tearing, listening to my delirious words as I lapsed in and out of consciousness. She's really the best girlfriend one could ever ask for.

Before the Operation

On Friday, my wonderful girlfriend paid for us to go on a cable car ride, as a break for me from the marking. Why would you want to go on the Flyer, when the view from up there (in Jaime's opinion, I can't say because I haven't been on the Flyer) is so much better?

The sky on my way to work, early this morning.

To mark the start of marking season, I went to Popular@Kovan to replenish my stock of red pens. It was pretty depressing so I had to get myself a $3.60 scoop of Dark Chocolate ice cream from Venezia. That cheered me up a little.

There's another thing to be glad about. My Dad got me another bottle of Vodka for my pre bed-time mix. These days, that means after I am done going through a script or two :(

There must be some way out of this.

For almost 2 months now, this has been my weekday after-work routine. After a good 12 hours of daylight sucked away, I come home, and find myself parked in front of the computer, itunes turned on, music playing, going through scripts. The beads of sand don't stop running down the hourglass. I have started buying lottery tickets on Wednesdays, praying that Lady Luck might be so kind and offer me a way out of bondage.

Swine flu. Manny beats Hatton. Bull run in May. Muriel's Brazen Overture. Margot lighting up these days of being 27. http://www.margotandthenuclearsoandsos.com/. I so badly want to pay for the music. But no luck with Rhapsody and itunes. I have no choice but to resort to torrents.

D700 Portraits - My father was born on May Day.

Around the world, May Day or International Labour Day is observed to celebrate the social and economic achievements of the working class. In most western democracies, workers take to streets with rallies and demonstrations. Of course stuff like that never happens in Singapore.

Happy Birthday Dad!

D700 Portrait - My mother the nurse.

After a long day at work, my mother returns home in the evening to her favorite Korean drama serial. With the Swine Flu alert raised to Orange, my mum's department has been temporarily shut down and the manpower transferred to the A&E department.
