Congratulations Brother Chee Wee on your marriage! Here’s to a lifetime of love and happiness!

Attended Cheewee's solemnisation yesterday at Amara Hotel, didn't have time for the food, I had to rush off as soon as the ceremony ended to officiate at a division 3 match. Brought along my camera with the basic kit lens, but nonetheless managed to get some shots which I have compiled into a slideshow as a present to Cheewee besides the red packet (hoho), heres the link to the slideshow: http://mrbrightside.webng.com/CheeWee/index.html Could have been better done if only i had brought along my prime lens.

Btw, I really like this nokia ad. I think its brilliant.

I've been enjoying my soccer. I guess perhaps the realization is starting to creep in, that I won't be this young for very much longer, so while I've still got it in me, I'd better run as fast as I can!

I have been re-reading Orwell's Animal Farm, and compared to 12 years ago(damn has it been that long?) I am better able to appreciate Orwell's genius in crafting this masterpiece of a political satire. And on the bus today, I couldn't help but draw uncomfortable parallels between a scene in the book and the current situation on this sunny little island.

"At this some of the other animals murmured, but it was no use. All the pigs were in full agreement on this point, even Snowball and Napoleon. Squealer was sent to make the necessary explanations to the others.

'Comrades!' he cried. You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our duty? Jones would come back! Yes, Jones would come back! Surely, comrades; cried Squealer almost pleadingly, skipping from side to side and whisking his tail, 'surely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones come back?' "

I love riding my bike at night. This is probably not the first time I have said this, but I don't mind reiterating, I love that feeling, late at night, when half of singapore is asleep, the other half at home in front of the computer or the TV, or out at Zouk, MOS, St James, and the roads that are clogged, narrow, exhaust filled in the day have been wondrously transformed into clear, wide boulevards made for cruising. The stretch of highway from Thomson alongside the old police academy, to after Toa Payoh where traffic branches off onto the CTE, in the day I'd take at least 15 minutes to clear, but at night it's a breeze, I take 5 minutes and along the way you reminisce, you pass the places that used to mean something to you, landmarks along the routes you used to take; Elizabeth's grandma's place, block of flats with its symmetrical corridor lights that always seem to call out to you on the way home on Henry's Car; it's the next exit to Bishan, Yishun, go on to the next, and all of a sudden, you start to miss everyone, if only for that transient flash of a moment.

It's been a good 2 days. Yesterday I went museum hopping with Audrey, first at the S.A.M for the Primary Colours exhibition, and then we crossed the road to the newly renovated(ok we are laggers) National Museum. It was fun, I enjoyed myself and I think she did too. Some of you are probably gonna say, it was the company, well I won't deny that as a big factor but the museums were good, especially the artworks on display at S.A.M.

And after school today I caught Rule #1, local director Kelvin Tong's supernatural Thriller. I went in unsure of what to expect, but it turned out to be pretty good. Not your 5 star, mind-blowing life-changing movie, but compelling entertainment. Yes,there are the inevitable plot-holes but as long as you are willing to suspend your disbelief, you will find your heart beating faster as the story unfolds. Sure, it borrows its basic premise from Fallen( I loved that movie) , but I guess thats not a movie many of you will have seen or remember, so it should be a fresh preposition. Great acting from the 2 male leads, Shawn Yue and a rather pudgy looking Ekin Cheng. 3.5 Stars. The trailer's below:

O' Blue skies, how we have missed you.

It has been such a wet, gray week. My spirit was lifted this afternoon as I stepped out of the lift into a beautiful day.

Its the time of the year where people start planning their summer vacations. Plans for Beijing and Bangkok in June, but I received a letter yesterday from HQ Guards which might just throw a spanner into the works - I have been 'invited' to participate Marching Contingent of NSmen for SAF Day on 1 July 08, which means a series of practices in June. Charlie Brown again.

Work is piling up and I just wish I was somewhere else.

The Great Decay, from the band of the moment. I know I am thinking too much, not being rational, but this saturday could make it 3 strikes after 2 hits, so cross your fingers for me will ya?

Caught the Great Spy Experiment last night at the Esplanade. Mary got the timing wrong so we were there almost an hour early but we were rewarded with front couch seats which allowed me to get some good photos of the band, and of the cute little girl who was also trying to take photos of the band at the front of the stage.

As the smiling faces will attest to, the music was really good. The Great Spy Experiment has joined the ranks of Concave Scream, Serenaide, Observatory, to lend credence to the statement: "Local Music Kicks Ass!" Catch them on the 25 Apr at the Esplanade Recital Studio, I wish I could, but I'm going diving.

(Off to school now bye, you can guess what's on the playlist of my ipod.)

Sometimes I liken myself to Charlie Brown, the original hard luck kid.

And Wanxin's Lucy to my Charlie Brown, dispensing the hard advice through my ups and downs.

I caught Kung Fu Dunk, might as well call it dung, probably the worst movie I will watch this year, at JB, City Square with my NIE coursemates, Weilun, Zixuan and Randal the great. Almost a week after Diving Bell, it was so ridiculous, the less said about it, the better.

Well, what got me really excited and smiling was that I managed to get a copy of Ah Shin's new book, a travel guide for Japan :) HAPPY !! No, I don't care if you are going in May, I am not to lending it to you Winnie :P

Barack Obama has got the Republicans running scared. Here are the excerpts of my e-mail exchange with my Aunt "No.1 George W Bush supporter in Orange County California" Madeline, after her cheap pot-shot e-mail:

>This seems to be a scary situation. Make sure you read to the last line.

>Here is an eye opener to start off your day... Can a Muslim be a Muslim-American? Have you ever thought – Is Muslim-American really an oxymoron? Can a devout Muslim be an American patriot and a loyal citizen?

>I forwarded that question to someone who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years The following is his forwarded reply:
>Theologically, no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.
>Religiously, no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)
>Scripturally , no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).
>Geographically, no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
>Socially, no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
>Politically, no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan
>Domestically, no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).
>Intellectually, no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
>Philosophically, no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
>Spiritually, no. Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names.'

>Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both good' Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish.....it's still the truth.

>If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above statements, perhaps you will share this with your friends. The more who understand this the better it will be....for the religious war is bigger and more complex than most Americans currently know or understand.

>Barack Hussein Obama, a man with a Muslim upbringing, wants to be our President...
''''I THINK SOME RED FLAGS SHOULD BE GOING UP HERE'''''

I promptly replied.

The truth hurts! But it should enlighten your horizons. Remember the last email of untruths you sent to everyone on my email list. Take back your own medicine.

I fired back.

This is hardly the truth and in my opinion a very cheap shot to discredit Barack Obama who by all likelihood is going become the next JFK.

Do you have a Yale degree? Until you do, do not judge someone who has and is a President. George Bush is scoring victories against the Democrats (donekys) in the Congress. How stupid or moronic can he be? George Bush is going to be one of the America's great president. IRAQ is proving to be a success.and a buffer against IRAN and other barbaric nations in the Middle East. The Iraqis are forever grateful to the Americans for their freedom and not to the Jihads.

Scary, these conservative Americans. Lol.
